Please try to pay your bill by the due date. Bills that are not received by BREC at its offices by the due date are subject to a 10% penalty. Keep in mind that a “postmark” date is not considered to be the date that payment is received. If paying at a BREC pay station or sending a payment by mail, please allow 4 to 5 days for the payment to reach us in order to avoid the penalty.

Call 844-937-1653 to access our interactive voice response pay-by-phone system. If you already have a PIN, select Option 1 to pay with a credit card or check. To create or update your PIN press Option 3. You can use this system to update your phone number, create a pin number, update your pin, cancel autopay, and inquire about your account.


You can set up automatic monthly withdrawals from your credit card, savings account, or checking account. Your electric bill is automatically deducted from your bank account or credit card on the due date, so you don’t have to worry about writing checks, buying postage, or worrying about late fees. Your monthly electric bill will arrive in the mail or electronically. You can register using the account management feature of the NEW SmartHub app or the automated pay-by-phone system by dialing 844-937-1653.

We’re excited to introduce VanillaDirect Pay, our newest, convenient way to pay your bill with cash. Pay your BREC bill with cash at any of these local retailers: Dollar General, Family Dollar, CVS Pharmacy, Speedway, and 7-Eleven. Visit www.vanilladirect.com to find other participating locations. Show your barcode located on your paper bill or in your SmartHub account at the register. The cashier will scan the barcode and then take your payment which will be credited to your account immediately.

You can also pay your electric bill (cash only) at WALMART, KROGER AND MANY OTHER LOCATIONS through CheckFreePay’s many locations. Visit www.checkfreepay.com and select the tab to “Find a Payment Location to obtain a list of CheckFreePay’s agents near you.

DO NOT pay past-due bills at any pay station or send payments via mail. It’s possible that your payment won’t get to our office in time to avoid a disconnect for non-payment and any associated fees.
