To ensure that your community can depend on its water resources for future generations, we are working with the Mississippi Department of Environmental Protection to improve your wastewater systems. The Mississippi Public Service Commission (PSC) regulates Great River Utility Operating Company.

We’re here to help you when you need it most. Our operations and maintenance specialists are here to assist you as a valued customer with billing issues, service interruptions, and any other inquiries you may have regarding your utility service.

From the 15th of the previous month to the 14th of the current month, Great River bills are in arrears. Your bill will therefore be created in the third week and sent out in the fourth week of every month. For instance, you can anticipate receiving the bill for services provided between September 15 and October 14 in the fourth week of October.

Bills are due on the 15th of the following month. For instance, the payment for services rendered between September 15 and October 14 will be due on November 15. Before the following billing cycle, any applicable late fees are assessed. At this time, billing rates will remain the same. The customer is responsible for building and maintaining the water and/or sewer service line from the property line to the building, and Great River may inspect it.

Your bill contains information about your water and/or sewer charges. Here’s a guide:

  • Account Number: This number needs to be written on your check or money order and mentioned in any correspondence you send to the utility company.
  • Amount Due: This is the total cost of all utility services for all customers.
  • Previous Balance Due: The sum of any outstanding debts as of the due date for the current invoice.

If you plan to leave your home for an extended period of time and don’t want your service to end, you can forward your mail or set up automatic payments.

Avoiding a Late Payment Fee or Service Discontinuation Payments are regarded as past due after the due date. The last business day of each month will serve as the deadline. If your bill is not paid in full by the due date, a late fee will be assessed. You run the risk of having your services stopped if your account goes past due.

Before we stop providing you with service, we’ll mail you a notice at least 10 days in advance. Please act right away if you receive a notice to prevent service interruption.

Once your bill or settlement is paid, the service will be restored. Prior to reconnecting, shut-off and reconnection fees will be assessed and collected.

Call customer service at 1-855-801-8440 to find out if you qualify for a payment agreement if you are unable to pay the full amount due and would like to do so. The payment plan will include paying the current month’s bills along with a portion of the past due sum, both of which are due and payable on the due date for the current month.
