Southeast King County residents have been served by the Soos Creek Water & Sewer District (SCWSD) since 1939.In 1987, Water District 58 and Cascade Sewer District merged, creating us as a municipal corporation.

We started in an area of less than 2 square miles in 1939 with a few hundred customers.Today, we serve almost 100,000 people who reside and work across 35 square miles with water and sewage services.

Lake Youngs, which is close to the District’s office, serves as the route by which Seattle Public Utilities provides our water.King County’s South Treatment plant in Renton receives wastewater from the sanitary sewer system and transports it there for treatment and disposal.

A Board of Commissioners made up of five publicly elected residents of the SCWSD service area oversees the district.

The goal of Soos Creek, a government organization, is to deliver dependable, superior water and sewage services in a timely, cost-effective manner.
