Levelized billing eliminates the surprise of receiving your monthly bill. Your payment will be averaged out over 12 monthly payments over the course of the year, preventing significant increases in your energy costs. You must have service at the current location for at least a year and have a good payment history in order to be eligible for levelized billing.

Set up an automatic withdrawal of your bank account’s monthly bill payment to save time and money. On the third of the month, or the following business day, your payment will be taken out of your account. It’s the same simple procedure you may already be utilizing for a monthly payment on an auto loan, insurance premium, or other obligation.

Members have the option to prepay for electricity before using it. Deposits, late fees, disconnect fees, and reconnect fees are no longer necessary as a result. You won’t get a bill, and Sumter EMC will only communicate with you electronically. By depositing a minimum of $50 into your prepay account, you can sign up for prepay. No deposit is required.

When your account balance falls below the minimum balance of $20, text or email alerts are sent. Alerts will continue to be sent to you until the balance reaches $20. Instead of having a bigger payment due on a specific date, several smaller payments can be made throughout the month. You are in control of your energy use and costs in either case.

Any member receiving social security, retirement, or disability income can pay their electric bills more conveniently with the help of this personalized billing service. Participants are put on a unique billing cycle with a payment deadline that falls on the same day as their monthly check arrives. Call customer service at 800-342-6978 to sign up for this option.
