Why do I have to go to a different site to pay my bill online? Who is SEDC?
If you have chosen to pay your bills online, you have probably noticed that waltonemcgas.com is not the same as the online billing site. com. Don’t worry; you’re at the right site!.
Southeastern Data Cooperative (SEDC) runs the online billing portion for Walton EMC Natural Gas. That’s why you’re directed to a different site when you proceed to view or pay your bill online. Its SSL software encrypts all of your personal information so that you know it is secure to process your transactions.
Walton EMC (the owner of Walton EMC Natural Gas) is one of more than 170 electric cooperatives and municipal utility providers served by the data processing cooperative SEDC, which operates in 28 states. From the online billing system to the printing and mailing of the paper bills, SEDC manages all of WEMCNG’s billing. Additionally, SEDC adds The Walton EMC Gasette to your monthly gas bill.
SEDC processes your online payment for WEMCNG, so SEDC will appear on your monthly credit card or bank statement in place of WEMCNG.
Why do I get an error message when I try to open the online billing site?
Check your Internet browser. Walton EMC online billing supports Internet Explorer 4. 0 and higher, Netscape 4. 01 and higher, and Firefox browsers. If your browser is not among these, please update it or try our automated phone payment system as an alternative method for paying your bills.
When you first log on, you should use the password that is listed on your first Walton EMC bill. Then you will be asked to enter your own password. Choose a password that’s not obvious. A combination of letters and numbers is best.
Contact us and we’ll help you reset your password if you lose it.
I am entering my account number and password correctly, but it still says “invalid account number or password.” What should I do?
When logging in, be sure to omit the last two digits of your account number. For instance, you should enter 11111 if your account number is 1111101. If the problem persists, please contact us.
How do I print out a copy of my online bill?
To print a copy of your bill, click the Print Preview button underneath the bill and then follow the on-screen instructions.
How do I know if my credit card payment has gone through after I click “Submit Payment?”
Be patient and give the system time to verify your credit card if you pay with it. WARNING: If you press the “Submit Payment” button once more before the process is complete, your credit card will be charged each time you press the button. Upon successful completion of the charge, a payment acknowledgment screen will appear. For your records, kindly print this page or jot down the transaction number.
A screen with an error message will appear if your credit card payment is declined. Your credit card statement or your Walton EMC account won’t show any payment.
If I paid my bill online, why do I still receive a paper bill showing a balance due?
Even if you pay your bill online, you will still get a paper copy. Your paper bill will still display a balance due because the electronic bill is uploaded simultaneously with the mailing of the paper bill. By calling or emailing us, you can choose Internet Billing if you no longer want to receive paper bills.
