The Stamford Water Pollution Control Facility, which is in Stamford, Connecticut, treats wastewater from the city and the nearby town of Darien before discharging clean water into the East Branch of Stamford Harbor. There has been wastewater treatment at this site since 1900The first plant was constructed in 1943, with an upgrade made in 1976 and the most recent upgrade made in 2006.The facility is staffed around-the-clock, every day of the week, all year long.
